Supply Chain Manager | Remote UK | £50,000–£65,000 DOE | Growing e-commerce business | Procurement & Inbound Logistics
Competitive salary + benefits | Fully Remote | UK
We’re recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing, profitable e-commerce group operating across the health & wellness sector. With a growing portfolio of consumer brands and an international customer base, the business is entering an exciting phase of scale and is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to take ownership of procurement, supply planning and inbound logistics across the group.
This is a highly impactful role for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment and wants genuine ownership over supplier relationships, purchasing, inventory and the movement of stock from manufacturer through to warehouse.
The Role
As Supply Chain Manager, you’ll own the supply chain journey from supplier selection and procurement through to inbound freight, customs and receipt into the warehouse.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the business has the right products, in the right quantities, arriving at the right time and at the right cost - balancing stock availability, cashflow, lead times and margin.
Working closely with Finance, Commercial, Operations, Marketplaces and Warehouse teams, you’ll act as the supply chain expert, identifying risks early and ensuring procurement and inbound logistics support the wider commercial strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Own procurement and supply planning across multiple brands, markets and product categories.
Lead demand forecasting and inventory planning across the SKU portfolio, balancing availability, cashflow and overstock risk.
Own purchase order placement and timing, working closely with suppliers on lead times, MOQs and production schedules.
Build and manage strong relationships with manufacturers and suppliers, negotiating pricing, terms, lead times and service levels.
Manage freight forwarder relationships, rates and SLAs, ensuring appropriate contingency options are in place.
Own inbound freight strategy, including sea vs air freight, container consolidation, routing and shipment planning.
Manage the end-to-end inbound process from supplier through customs and into the relevant warehouse or 3PL.
Own and optimise landed cost, ensuring supplier, freight, duty, storage and other inbound costs are accurately understood and commercially managed.
Monitor supplier and inbound logistics performance, identifying and resolving delays, short shipments, damages, customs issues and other exceptions.
Work closely with Finance to manage procurement commitments, stock valuations, landed costs and cashflow implications.
Support warehouse and 3PL teams with accurate inbound schedules, stock information and delivery expectations.
Lead supply chain planning for peak trading periods, ensuring sufficient stock cover and inbound capacity are secured.
Own the procurement and logistics workstream for new product launches, ensuring stock is available to meet commercial launch timelines.
Ensure procurement and inbound supply chain activities meet relevant customs, transport, product and regulatory requirements across UK, EU and US markets.
Maintain accurate supply chain data and systems across suppliers, inventory, warehouses, 3PLs and freight partners.
Develop and improve procurement and supply chain processes, systems and SOPs.
Lead, develop and support the supply chain team as the function grows.
Work cross-functionally with Commercial, Finance, Operations, Marketplaces and Warehouse teams to ensure supply chain supports business growth.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means having the right stock, at the right time, at the right cost.
You’ll ensure purchase orders are placed at the right time, suppliers deliver against agreed expectations and inbound freight is planned efficiently. You’ll protect margin through effective procurement and landed cost management while ensuring the business has sufficient stock to support growth and new product launches.
Key measures of success will include:
Stock availability and inventory efficiency.
Forecast accuracy across the SKU portfolio.
Supplier performance against agreed pricing, lead times and SLAs.
Inbound freight performance and cost.
Landed cost and CM1/CM2 margin performance.
Procurement and freight commitments managed effectively against cashflow.
Successful delivery of NPD and product launch timelines.
Peak trading stock cover and inbound capacity secured ahead of agreed deadlines.
Reduction of supply chain risk and unplanned cost pressures.
