Senior Ecommerce Manager
Lead ecommerce strategy, testing and trading across DTC, B2B and marketplaces. Hybrid, 4 days on site.
Manchester | Fast-Growing Consumer Brand
Are you a commercially minded ecommerce leader who knows how to turn insight into action?
Our client is a fast-growing consumer brand looking for a Senior Ecommerce Manager to take full ownership of online performance across its DTC and B2B websites, as well as key marketplaces.
This is a role for someone who genuinely lives and breathes ecommerce trading. You will own the numbers, lead the trading calendar, shape the Shopify roadmap and make the day-to-day commercial decisions that drive revenue.
You might spot an opportunity in the data first thing on a Monday morning, build the case and have the change live before the end of the day.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will set the strategy and direction, but you will also stay close to the detail — improving the customer journey, optimising onsite performance and making sure every visit has the best possible chance of converting.
What you will own
Ecommerce trading and revenue
You will take ownership of:
Delivering online revenue targets across DTC, B2B and marketplaces
Leading the ecommerce trading calendar across promotions, product launches and key trading periods
Monitoring daily performance and reacting quickly to opportunities across pricing, merchandising and marketing
Driving improvements in conversion rate, average order value, basket size and customer lifetime value
Identifying new commercial opportunities using customer, product and performance data
CRO, UX and customer experience
You will be responsible for:
Continuously improving the onsite customer experience
Identifying and removing friction across the customer journey
Developing and delivering a structured CRO and A/B testing programme
Using data, testing and customer insight to improve site performance
Optimising the journey from first visit through to repeat purchase
Shopify platform and roadmap
You will own the ecommerce platform strategy, including:
Creating, prioritising and delivering the Shopify roadmap
Identifying platform improvements that support revenue growth and customer experience
Managing the ecommerce technology stack, integrations and platform partners
Overseeing site developments, feature launches and platform enhancements
Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and against clear commercial objectives
Strong hands-on Shopify experience, including ownership of Shopify development roadmaps, is essential for this role.
Data and performance
You will turn data into clear commercial decisions by:
Reporting on revenue, conversion rate, AOV, ROAS, CPA, CAC and LTV
Using GA4, Shopify analytics and marketing platforms to identify trends and opportunities
Translating performance data into actions across trading, marketing and UX
Providing clear, useful reporting and recommendations to the leadership team
Establishing effective ecommerce reporting and forecasting processes
Agencies, partners and team leadership
You will also:
Manage digital agencies, developers and technology partners
Set clear objectives and hold external partners accountable for delivery
Lead and support the Senior Ecommerce Executive, Senior Marketing Executive and Social Media Assistant
Work closely with marketing, operations, product and creative teams
Ensure campaigns, trading activity and customer journeys are fully aligned
What you will bring
Essential experience
We are looking for someone with:
Strong ecommerce experience within a retail, consumer or DTC environment
Advanced Shopify experience
Proven experience creating and delivering Shopify roadmaps
A track record of driving online revenue growth
Strong ecommerce trading and merchandising experience
Experience leading CRO and A/B testing programmes
Strong analytical capability across GA4, Shopify and digital marketing platforms
Working knowledge of paid media, CRM and SEO
Experience managing agencies, developers and external technology partners
The confidence to make fast, commercially informed decisions
Experience leading, mentoring or developing team members
Desirable experience
It would be an advantage to have:
Marketplace management experience
Experience scaling ecommerce operations internationally
Experience using Klaviyo or a similar CRM platform
Experience managing ecommerce integrations and platform migrations
What success looks like
Within your first 12 months, you will have:
Delivered ecommerce and marketplace revenue targets
Increased conversion rate, average order value and basket size
Improved customer retention and lifetime value
Built and delivered a clear Shopify roadmap
Established a structured and effective CRO programme
Improved the overall customer experience and performance of the site
